Another injured man has succumbed to death on Sunday morning raising the death toll of the attack to four.
Akram Hossain, officer-in-charge of Ataikula police station, has told the Dhaka Tribune.
The deceased was identified as Rafiqul Islam, 30, who died at Pabna General Hospital at 8:30am, he said.
Police, in separate drives in Pabna, have held eight criminals in connection with the killing incidents.
Six of them are members of outlawed party “Sarbahara” and each of them is accused of one or more cases, the OC said.
Miscreants have stabbed and then shot three persons to death in Pushpopara Bazar under Ataikula upazila in the district on Saturday evening.
Protesting the killings, Awami League men along with the locals have put barricades at Dharmagram, halting vehicular movement on Dhaka-Pabna highway since morning.
