A police official has been killed and 13 others have been injured as a passenger bus turned upside down on Barisal-Dhaka Highway near Wazirpur upazila in the district on Saturday morning.
Anwar Hossain, Wazirpur police station officer-in-charge, said Mokhlesur Rahman, 49, Habildar of Range Reserve Force Camp at Batajor killed at the spot.
Witnesses said the passenger bus turned upside down on the road as the driver lost his control over the steering wheel in the morning, leaving Mokhles dead on the spot and 13 others injured.
The injured were admitted at different hospitals, said police.
AKM Ehsanullah, district police superintendent, said RRF Habildar Mokhlesur Rahman was going from Barisal to his work place.
