Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury has met India's new Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.
The meeting with Modi took place at 1:42pm (Indian Time), at Hyderabad House, a day after he took oath as Indian prime minister in New Delhi.
The speaker is also scheduled to meet Indian President Pranab Mukherjee around 5pm.
Earlier, the speaker told the Dhaka Tribune over phone from the Indian capital: “The bilateral issues will come up for discussion.”
The speaker is leading a Bangladesh delegation that attended the inauguration of prime minister-elect Narendra Modi.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina sent Shirin Sharmin to represent her at the function as the PM has been on a bilateral tour in Japan.
