Closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras will be installed in all shopping malls in the capital during the month of Ramadan.
The initiative has been taken for the sake of people's security during Eid shopping.
State Minister for Home Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has made the disclosure after a meeting at his office on Tuesday afternoon.
“CCTV cameras will be installed in the city markets to identify the culprits if law and order situation deteriorated during Eid shopping,” said the junior minister.
He said special security measures would be taken during the month of Ramadan for ensuring security of people.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Hasan Mahmood Khandakar said: “RAB personnel will perform duties during Ramadan, if it is required.”
