Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) have detained a Bangladeshi national from Baghadanga frontier under Moheshpur upazila in Jhenaidah on Monday morning.
The victim was identified as Tufan Hossain, 20, of Baghadanga village of the upazila.
A company level flag meeting was held at about 11am between the BGB and BSF to bring the detainee back.
However, the BSF has informed their Bangladeshi counterpart that Tufan was handed over to Indian police for legal steps as he had entered into Indian territory without valid documents, said BGB Chuadanga Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Maniruzzaman.
Maniruzzaman said: “Tufan entered into Indian Territory to bring cattle from the neighboring country. The BSF from the Sadarpara area under Hashkhali frontier have arrested him at 5am.”
