The District Road Transport Owners-workers' Association has called an indefinite bus strike in eight districts from Tuesday morning, to press home their seven-point demand.
The districts are Dhaka, Tangail, Gazipur, Mymensingh, Netrakona, Sherpur, Jamalpur and Kishoreganj.
The announcement came from a press meet held at the office of district motor owners' association on Monday afternoon.
Dhaka Divisional(north region) Road Transport Owners-workers' Association convener Aminul Haque Shamim placed a written statement in the press meet.
According to the statement, they have called the strike in order to extend their support to the ongoing transport strike in Netrakona district.
They also demanded the withdrawal of the District Commissioner, Dr Abul Kalam Azad, for “ordering the Ansar members to open fire on transport workers.”
