The Appellate Division has scrapped the High Court verdict that acquitted BNP leader Aman Ullah Aman and his wife from a case filed over acquiring wealth beyond known source.
The apex court also ordered the High Court for holding fresh hearing in the case.
A five member bench of the Appellate Division led by Chief Justice Muzammel Hossain passed the order on Monday afternoon.
On August 16, 2010, the High Court acquitted the BNP leader and his wife from the case in which Aman had been awarded 13 years and his wife two years jail.
On September 15 last year, the ACC filed a live to appeal against the High Court order.
In 2007, the Anti Corruption Commission filed the case against Aman and his wife on charges of acquiring wealth beyond known source and hiding information of property.
