Police have arrested a ward councillor of Narayanganj City Corporation for her alleged involvement in a killing incident.
Shiddhirganj police station Officer-in-Charge Alauddin told the Dhaka Tribune that Ward Councillor Jannatul Ferdous Nila was detained from her Shiddhirganj residence around 3am on Monday.
“Nila was shown arrested in one Jewel murder case on Monday morning,” he added.
He said Nila was sent to court in the morning.
Earlier on May 18, Detective Branch (DB) of Police detained Nila for quizzing over the seven murder in Narayanganj. She was released after two hours of her detention.
On October 27 last year, Jewel was slaughtered over a feud between two groups of villagers in Shiddhirganj following establishing supremacy.
OC Alauddin said: “Police arrested an accused in the case last month. As per the information from the accused police arrested Nila over her involvement in the killing incident.”
