The high-powered government’s probe body on the Narayanganj murder case will interrogate ruling party lawmaker Shamim Osman, if it is required.
Shahjahan Ali Mollah, head of the probe committee, made the remarks in reply to a query from reporters after the interrogation of former Narayanganj SP and DC at the secretariat on Sunday afternoon.
When asked whether Shamim Osman would be interrogated over the leaked conversation with Nur Hossain, Shahjahan Ali said: “Our investigation is proceeding. If it is required to quiz him, we will obviously do that.”
On Friday, private television Channel 24 aired a phone conversation between Shamim Osman and Nur Hossain, prime accused in Narayanganj seven murder case.
Later in a press conference, Shamim Osman admitted having a phone conversation with Nur Hossain.
Nur Hossain, prime accused in the murder case, went on hiding after the abductions and killings of seven persons in Narayanganj last month.
Narayanganj City Corporation panel mayor Nazrul Islam, lawyer Chandan Sarkar and five others were abducted on April 27 and then killed; their bodies were dumped into the Shitalakkhya River.
