Gobhir Nishithe
“Gobhir Nishithe,” a drama based on Nazrul’s song will be aired on NTV at 9pm. Written by Pantha Shahrear and directed by Noim Imtiaz Neamul, the drama features popular soap actor Intekhab Dinar, Badhon, Kazi Ujjal, Mahmudul Islam Mithu and many others. The plot of the drama revolves around a writer named Afzal who is working on a book. He revisits Rangamati as the place is related to the book he is writing. He passes a busy day hardly noticing when evening falls. Slowly he begins to recall his previous visit where he became close to a woman named Nayantara, who was his only companion for three long months. He asks himself about his feelings for Nayantara.
Moron Pother Jatri
Based on Kazi Nazrul Islam’s poem “Obhishap,” a special drama titled “Moron Pother Jatri,” will be aired on Banglavision at 9:05pm. Written and directed by Kaunain Sourav, the drama features Anisur Rahman Milon, Sumaiya Shimu, Amirul Haque Chowdhury, SS Mohsin, Sayed Khan Dilu and many others. The plot of the drama revolves around Mir Shaheb’s daughter Aleya, who is in a relationship with a flautist named Khaled. Aleya’s father refuses to accept their relationship and in his denial, throws Khaled out of the village. Deprived of all contact with Khaled, Aleya suffers from a nervous breakdown. After several attempts to get her treatment, her family finally succumbs into seeking out a spiritual healer who informs them that the problem lies with her family and they are the ones in need of treatment.
Agnigiri
“Agnigiri” featuring Arfan Nisho and Bidya Sinha Saha Mim will be aired at 8:25pm tonight on RTV. The play based on Nazrul Islam's short story with the same title has been adapted by Mohiuddin Ahmed and directed by Sajjad Sumon. The story of the drama revolves around a self-effacing and religious college student named Sabur, played by Nisho, who pursues his studies by working as a lodging master in Patwar Ali Nasib Mia's home. He teaches Arabic and Persian to Patwar Mia’s only daughter Nurjahan played by Mim. Sabur is shy in nature and never even looks at Nurjahan properly, and yet they fall in love with each other at one point. Faced with the harsh realities of life, their love story meets a tragic end.
Nazrul
“Nazrul” will be aired tonight at 8pm on ATN Bangla. Popular actor Riaz will play the role of Nazrul in the single episode play which will air marking the birth anniversary of the rebel poet. Written and directed by Ferdous Hasan, the story is about a teacher who named his son Robi as a tribute to Rabindranath Tagore. He was always in fear that his son will turn out to be a rebel like Nazrul. Growing up, Robi fails in all spheres of life. When his father cannot tolerate his son’s failure any longer, he advises Robi to read books of Rabindranath Tagore. During his search, Robi stumbles upon works of Nazrul which gives him a new purpose in life.
