Maritime ports asked to hoist signal no 3

The maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal number three on Friday because of the depression on the Bay of Bengal.

The depression over east-central bay and adjoining area moved south-westwards and weakened into a well marked low over the east-central bay and adjoining west-central bay at 12 noon, according to a special weather bulletin of the Met office.

As per the bulletin, deep convection is taking place over North Bay under its influence.

Squally weather may affect North Bay, adjoining coastal area and the maritime ports of Bangladesh.

All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice. They are also advised not to venture into the deep sea.
