2 children killed in Sylhet road accident

Two children have been killed and four others injured as a microbus ran over them at Nazirbazar area on Sylhet-Dhaka highway on Wednesday morning.

The deceased Farhad Hossain, 8, and Shahran Ahmed, class III students of Nazirbazar Darul Quran Madrasa and the residents of Keshapur village.

Osmaninagar police station Officer-in-charge Jubayer Ahmed said: “The driver of the Sylhet-bound microbus lost his control over the steering and ran over the children around 9am, killing two on the spot and injuring four passengers of the microbus.”

He said: “The injured have been admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.”

Meanwhile, students of the madrasa blocked the Sylhet-Dhaka highway protesting the incident.
