The authorities of Sylhet Nursing Institute have declared the institute closed for an indefinite period.
The decision came following ongoing unrest over the “unprecedented incident” between intern doctors and nurses and brothers of Sylhet Osmani Medical College and Hospital.
The students also asked to vacate the dormitories by 6pm.
Osmani Medical College Hospital Assistant Director Tonmoy Bhattacharya confirmed about the closure of the institute to the Dhaka Tribune.
Meanwhile, the students are observing a sit-in programme in the morning.
Student nurse Raihan Chowdhury alleged that the intern doctors were threatening them to stop the movement.
