Another case has been filed against the “fired” RAB officer Tarek Sayeed Mohammad over abductions of two top leaders of BNP unit in Laksham.
The case has been filed over abduction of Laksham BNP President Saiful Islam Hiru and his nephew local municipality president Humayun Kabir Parvez.
Five RAB men, including ex-RAB 11 commanding officer Tarek, were sued. Rangu Mia, father of Pervez and Hiru's cousin, filed the lawsuit with a Laksham court on Sunday.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Sabrina Nargis took the complaint into cognisance and ordered Laksham police station OC to investigate into the allegation.
The two BNP leaders went missing on November 27 last year ahead of the January 5 national poll.
Others accused in the case were RAB 11 Major Shahed Raji, Deputy Assistant Director Shahjahan Ali, Sub Inspectors Kazi Sultan Ahmed and Asit Kumar Roy.
Accusations were that these RAB men picked up the two BNP leaders and snatched away Tk14 lakh from the duo. The two BNP leaders remained missing since.
The case statement also said Hiru and Pervez had enmity with local BNP-sponsored businessman Majir Ahmed.
Former RAB officer Tarek Sayeed is now in detention under section 54 over his alleged involvement in the seven murders of Narayanganj.
Accusations were that he and two other officers took Tk6 crore in exchange of killing seven people including Narayanganj Panel Mayor Nazrul Islam and lawyer Chandan Sarkar.
