A college girl has allegedly committed suicide in Srimatopur village under Habiganj Sadar upazila of the district on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Iffat Ara, a HSC second year student and daughter of Abdullah Mia.
Sub-inspector Mizanur Rahaman of Nabiganj police outpost told the Dhaka Tribune that Iffat committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her room in the afternoon.
Later, her relatives informed police about the incident.
The reason behind the suicide could not be known immediately, the SI said.
