Cooking show Nostalgia airs today

“Nostalgia” is a new cooking show that premiered last week on ATN News at 9:30 pm and will run at the same time every Friday.

Directed by media personality Afsana Mimi, “Nostalgia” aims at reconnecting people with the rich and diverse heritage of Bangladeshi cuisine.

The show is much more than a mere cooking show; it aims to turn the urban viewers nostalgic by presenting dishes that our grandmothers used to cook in traditional utensils and clay stoves.

It incorporates the cooking segment within simple village stories. The first episode showed two sisters visiting their cousin who resides in a village, on the day of Pahela Baishakh.

They prepare a meal for their brother and the all the details of the cooking process were presented through the story.

Noted designer Chandrashekhar Saha, Afroza Banu and Wareka Binte Wali Bably were the guest stars for the episode. The entire episode was filmed at Demorpara village in Pubail.

“‘Nostalgia’ aims to go to different parts of the country and rediscover the recipes that have been passed down through generations,” ensured the director.
