At least thirteen progressive organizations including students, cultural and liberation war based organizations, urged the immediate unification of the Gonojagoron Moncho with a view to contain its image and to strengthen its movement towards its objective.
They also urged two portions of Gonojagoron Moncho, who became separate and observed different programs under the Gonojagoron Moncho banner after 3rd April, to stop using the Gonojagon banner in their separate program which is hampering the Gonojagoron’s dignity.
They made these demands while addressing a press conference at Shahabag intersection on Thursday afternoon while activists of Jashad Chhatra League, Bangladesh Chhatra Moitri, Chhata Andolon, Chhatra Shomiti, Chhatra Oikko Forum, BOAN, and cultural and liberation war based organization’s were present.
Shamsul Islam Sumon, president of Jashad Chhatra league, said recently the Gonojagoron is segregated into two parts and now they are quarrelling and blaming each other for using Gonojagoron banner.“The two portions are decreasing the Gonojagoron’s dignity and peoples respect towards it by throwing dirty claims at each other”, he said.
Chhatra Moitri president Bappa Ditta Bashu said the anti liberation forces could be rejuvenated if the Gonojagoron became split and continued such quarrels in between activists.
He urged all the Gonojagoron activists, who were formed on 5th February 2013, to be united to protest such anti-liberation and evil forces and to strengthen its future movement.
Jashad Chhatra league president Shamsul Islam Sumon declared their announcement to the journalist, among others Chhatra Moitri president Bappa Ditta Bashu and secretary general Tanvir Rusmot, Chhatra Shomiti convener Jahidul Islam Khan, Chhatra Andolon secretary general Nazrul Islam Shikdar, Chhatra Oikko convener Shohan Sobhan , BOAN member Animesh Rahman were present.
