‘No delay in arresting accused of N’ganj killing’

The law enforcing agencies are not making any delay to arrest the accused of the 7-murder case of Narayanganj.

State Minister for Home Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said while talking to the reporters at his office on Wednesday.

“Following the court order, the law personnel are trying to arrest the criminals involved in the abduction and killing in Narayanganj,” Khan said.

Narayanganj city Ward Counsillor Nazrul Islam, lawyer Chandan Sarkar and their five associates were abducted on April 27.

Later their bodies surfaced in the Sitalakhya River. Autopsy report said they were murdered by professionals.

Nazruls' father-in-law alleged that the RAB officials were hired by another Narayanganj word councilor in exchange for TK6 crore to abduct and kill the seven.

Following the allegation RAB sent the officers to forced retirement.

On Sunday, the High Court ordered for arrest of the three Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) officials. The home ministry was ordered to comply “immediately.”

The three RAB officials are former Narayanganj RAB 11 Commanding Officer Tarek Sayeed Mohammad, Nahir Arif Hossain and Lt Commander SM Rana.

Among them, Sayeed is the son-in-law of Disaster Management Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya who had strongly said “none of his family was involved in the killing.”
