Earlier, the party sought permission to hold a rally at the Bangabandhu lane in Narayanganj on May 14, however the city corporation authority denied to give permission citing the ongoing condition of law and order.
After being refused from the city corporation, the party then sought permission to the Deputy Commissioner for holding the rally at Alauddin Stadium, however the authority also denied to give permission.
Regarding the refusal, city Mayor Selina Hayat Ivy said: “The law and order situation of the city is vulnerable at the moment and the place BNP chose to gather hosts hospitals, so no public gathering will be allowed there.”
