The official website of Bangladesh Standard Time has been inaccessible since early Tuesday.
The standard time of Bangladesh could not be checked visiting the website www.time.gov.bd at 3am.
It was inaccessible till filing the report at 8:30am.
Earlier on May 9, Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) fixed the Bangladesh Standard Time in order to maintain a standard uniform time with the world and developed the e-governance system.
The time set by using Rubidium Atomic Clock through Global Positioning System will be telecasted across the country through the National Data Centre situated in Bangladesh Computer Council Bhaban in the capital’s Agargaon.
Earlier, the Bangladesh Computer Council strongly urged the Information and Communication Technology Ministry to give responsibility to BSTI for fixing the standard time and broadcasting it throughout the country.
The European Union and the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation assisted the BSTI to fix the time.
