Ten people have given deposition before the high-powered probe body over the abductions and killings of seven people in Narayanganj.
The hearing began around 11am at Narayanganj Circuit House.
The probe body members left the Narayanganj Circuit House around 4pm.The hearing will resume on Thursday.
When asked the probe body members regarding the deposition, they did not give any answer.
A number of curious public had gathered in front of the circuit house. However, only ten people had registered for the deposition, reports this correspondent.
After giving statement, one Jalaluddin said he told the committee what he knows about the incident.
“I also told the probe body that the people of Narayanganj are living in apprehension of abductions and killings,” said Jalaluddin.
However, three other people who gave deposition refused to disclose any information of what they said to the investigation committee in the hearing.
Before the beginning of the hearing, District Lawyers Association President Sakhawat Hossain and General Secretary Jakir Hossain told the committee that they are suspecting that fake people might give deposition as the bigwigs of Narayanganj and Rapid Action Battalion officials are involved with the murder.
The committee, headed by Md Shahjahan Ali Mollah, additional secretary in the Public Administration Ministry, was formed to investigate the alleged involvement of law enforcers in the murders following a High Court order on May 5.
The families of the seven people abducted and later found dead in Narayanganj, gave their deposition before the committee on Saturday.
Seven bodies surfaced in Shitalakkhya River on April 30 that included the body of a Narayanganj ward councillor, Nazrul Islam and lawyer Chandan Sarker.
