Cautionary signal 3 raised at Cox’s Bazar

The met office yesterday warned the country’s three maritime ports – Cox’s Bazar, Chittagong and Mongla of a depression formed in the Bay of Bengal.

It also asked the authorities concerned to hoist cautionary signal three at maritime ports due to formation of a deep convection over the North Bay.

Under the influence, a moderate rainfall has been taking place in the port city of Chittagong since early morning which has forced the Chittagong port to suspend its regular loading and unloading of goods and cargoes.

Bangladesh Meteorological Department also advised all fishing boats and trawlers in the North Bay to anchor close to the coast in its special weather bulletin released at noon yesterday.

According to the Met office bulletin, at least 49 millimeter rainfalls have occurred in the port city till noon yesterday since early morning which could prolong for the next 24 hours.
