Ayesha Memorial Hospital marks mother’s day

Ayesha Memorial Hospital held a special honourary prize giving ceremony to observe “World Mother’s Day” yesterday in the capital.

Professor Dr Anisuzzaman was present at the function as the chief guest where five mothers were honoured for their extra ordinary contribution and another 15 parents of newborn babies were given special gifts.

The mothers are as follows: Litterateur Rabeya Khatun, Maleka Khan, one of the organisers of liberation war and women entrepreneur, Asya Ashraf, mother of popular Film Actor Ferdous, Sharmili Ahmed, a popular media personality, and Sanoara Begum.

They were presented with crests, medals, and gift boxes.

Dr Anisuzzaman said: “A mother is someone who is an outstanding person to each of us. She is our first and last resort. I wish the authorities of Ayesha Memorial Hospital all the success for arranging this program to honour the mothers.”

With Preeti Chakrabarti, the chairman of the hospital, in the chair; the program was also attended by Abdul Kayum, associate editor of the daily Prothom Alo, Rezanur Rahman, editor of Ananda Alo, Ferdous, film actor, and others.

Entertainment Journalist Ovi Moinuddin was also given a complementary award for her contribution in the media.

Dr Ashish Kumar Chakrabarti, gave the welcome speech and the entire function was conducted by Dr Gulzar Hossain.
