N'ganj mass hearing to be held at circuit house

The investigation committee has made changes in its venue for the mass hearing in the Narayanganj abductions and killings.

The public hearing will be held at the circuit house of the district instead of previously mentioned deputy commissioner's office, says a handout issued on Sunday.

Interested and concerned persons have been requested to give their statements before the committee from 10am on May 12 and 15 at the circuit house.

The committee, headed by Md Shahjahan Ali Mollah, additional secretary in the Public Administration Ministry, was formed to investigate into the alleged involvement of law enforcers in the murders following a High Court order on May 5, it added.

The families of the seven people abducted and later found dead in Narayanganj, gave their deposition before the committee on Saturday.

Seven bodies surfaced in Shitalakkhya River on April 30 that included the body of a Narayanganj ward councillor, Nazrul Islam, and lawyer Chandan Sarker.
