United States Ambassador to Bangladesh W Dan Mozena is scheduled to start for a 3-day visit to Jhenaidah on Monday morning.
Deputy Commissioner of Jhenaidah Bashir Ahmed said the US Embassy had confirmed Mozena's visit to the district on Saturday.
The district administration has taken initiatives ahead of the visit, he said.
Security has been tightened following the visit, he added.
The ambassador is scheduled to attend a meeting with the deputy commissioner and police super, visit the community radio station of Jhenuk Radio and meet Jhenaidah municipality mayor Saidul Karim Mintu.
Jhenaidah people are waiting to receive the ambassador with their cordial hospitality and traditional customs, Deputy Commissioner Safiqul Islam told the Dhaka Tribune.
