US ambassador Dan W Mozena has narrowly escaped a road mishap near Louhodi village in Gazipur on Friday morning.
He was going to visit the power plant of Solar Nano Grid 1 project under Solaric company in the village at round 10am.
Police and witness said the driver of the jeep carrying Mozena, lost his control over the steering, near Louhodi High School and tilted on the road. However, the driver managed to save the car before falling into a roadside pond.
Kapasia police station Officer-in-Charge Ahsan Ullah said: “Mozena and the others are safe now. We have sent a wrecker to recover the car from the spot.”
Mozena later visited the plant through an alternative vehicle, the OC added.
