The probe body formed by the public administration ministry has been visiting the area where the bodies were found in Narayanganj.
Public Administration Ministry Additional Secretary Shahjahan Ali Molla, also head of the probe committee, has told the Dhaka Tribune prior to visit the spot on Thursday afternoon.
He said: “It is a very important incident. It will take time to investigate such incident.”
A primary report will be submitted to the High Court within seven days, he said.
“We will talk to the families of the victims and after that we will submit a full report in this connection.”
Asked about a minister's involvement in the killing, Shahjahan Ali Molla said: “There is no chance of being influenced by this matter as our committee has been formed as per the High Court’s directive. We will submit the report mentioning name of the accused.”
The probe committee members are – Public Administration Ministry Deputy Secretary Abdul Kaiyum Sarker and Abul kashem Moinuddin, Law Ministry Deputy Secretary Mostafizur Rahman and Mizanur Rahman Khan, Home Ministry Deputy Secretary Shafiqur Rahman and Sayeed Mahmud Belal Haider.
On Wednesday, the public administration ministry has constituted a seven-member probe body as per High Court directive to investigate the abductions and killings incident of seven people in Narayanganj.
The High Court on May 6 ordered the ministry to form a probe committee for investigating the seven killing incident of Narayanganj. It also asked to submit a report within seven working days.
