Assailants have shot dead two brothers in Baghaichari upazila of Rangamati district early Thursday.
The deceased have been identified as Shushanto Chakma, 32, and Tridib Chakma, 30. They were members of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity (PCJSS) led by MN Larma.
Baghaichari police station Officer-in-Charge Azizur Rahman has confirmed about the deaths to the Dhaka Tribune.
Azizul said: “The criminals numbering 15-20 cordoned off their house at Madyapara under Rupkari union in the upazila in the early hours of Thursday and shot them to death."
MN Larma group General Secretary Patindranath Chakma has blamed the members of Santu Larma group for the killing incident.
However, Santu Larma group Assistant Press Secretary Sajib Chakma has denied their involvement in the gruesome murder.
