N'ganj killing: Vehicles containing 'press' sticker seized

The members of law enforcement agencies have seized two vehicles containing “press” stickers from Babuganj upazila, Barisal for the suspicious movements of the drivers.

Two white cars, marked with “press” stickers, were seized early Monday over suspicious movements, Babuganj police station Officer-in-Charge Shah Alam said on Tuesday.

However, the drivers managed to flee, he added. “The raid was carried out under instructions from the district police superintendent.”

Barisal police Superintendent AKM Ehsanullah said the vehicles were being monitored according to directions from higher authorities after the Narayanganj incident.

“Notices have been repeatedly issued for claiming the vehicles, but no one contacted,” he added.

Locals said one Monir Akon, managing editor of one local newspaper Bhorer Sangbad and son of Nazir Akon, an ex-paramilitary BDR man, and his associate Sharif arrived in the district by the cars.
