Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said the government would not spare anyone involved in the recent abduction and killing of seven people in Narayanganj.
She made the assertion while holding the weekly cabinet meeting on Monday, reported UNB.
Issuing a strong note of warning, she said: “We will not spare anyone involved in the abduction and killing of seven people in Narayanganj, no matter how powerful the persons are.”
Mentioning that the government was firm to find out the “culprits,” the PM told the meeting that the government was pursuing a strong stance to find out the real killers.
“We are firm to find out the culprits …we won’t leave any stone unturned,” she said.
Hasina asked the cabinet members to remain watchful about the matter and work sincerely.
On April 27, Narayanganj panel mayor Nazrul Islam, his three associates and driver were abducted by miscreants from Fatullah area of the city.
Hours after their abduction, senior lawyer at district Judge’s Court Chandan Kumar Sarker and his driver were also abducted on their way to capital Dhaka.
Three days into their abduction, the bodies of six people, including that of Nazrul and Chandan Kumar, were recovered from the Shitalakhya and Dhaleshwari rivers on April 30.
Another body, believed to be of Jahangir, the car driver of Nazrul Islam, was recovered from the Shitalakhya River on May 1.
