Unidentified miscreants hacked a leader of Jhenaidah bus minibus transport workers' union to death at Arappur area in Jhenaidah on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Gaffar Biswas, 48, son of late Babar Ali of Al Herapara area and the general secretary of Jhenaidah bus minibus transport workers' union.
Jhenaidah Sadar police station Sub-Inspector Ziarul Islam said: “Rivals in the transport workers' union might have killed and left Gaffa's body there.”
He said: “Police recovered the body at 4am and sent it to Jhenaidah Sadar morgue for post-mortem examination.”
