Deputy high commissioner to India Samina Naz received the certificate from the Government of Maharashtra Sankarnarayanan at Mumbai on Saturday.
The programme, held at the Darbar Hall of the Raj Bhavan, was jointly organised by the Maharashtra government, WHO, Aditya Birla Group and Rotary International.
Bangladesh is one of ten South Asian countries declared polio free and certified by WHO.
The information was obtained from a handout of the Ministry of Information on Sunday.
