Shunte Ki Pao! to be screened at the prestigious Louxor Theatre

Kamar Ahmed’s internationally acclaimed creative documentary, Shunte Ki Pao! (Are You Listening!) is scheduled to screen at the prestigious Louxor Theatre in Paris on May 13. Kamar has also been invited to take part in a question/answer session with the audience after the screening. The event is organised by a group of Parisian activists and filmmakers, lead by renowned Cambodian filmmaker Rithy Panh under the doctrine of “a country, a film, a director, a meeting.”

Built in 1921 and revived last year after 25 years of curtailment, Louxor Theatre is now considered as one of the most popular centre for practicing independent thinking, counter-culture and progressive politics amongst the youngsters. It currently screens world classics and critically acclaimed world cinemas only.

The talented director will also present the script of Shonkhodhoni (Silence of the  Seashell), an on-going project of his, at the La Fabrique Les Cinemas du Monde organised by Institut Francais in partnership with Marché du Film at the Festival de Cannes.

Last year in Paris, Shunte Ki Pao! won the Grand Prix award at the “35th Cinema du Reel” and this year it was awarded with the Golden Conch at the “Mumbai International Film Festival” (MIFF) as the best feature film.
