Bangladesh does not want to become involved in conflicts with the World Bank, Communications Minister Obaidul Quader has said.
The minister made the remarks after a meeting with a World Bank delegation on Sunday afternoon.
"We are not conflicting with the World Bank," he said.
Keiko Honda, Executive Vice President of the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), World Bank group, and Muhamet Bamba Fall, MIGA's regional head of Asia Pacific met Obaidul Quader at his office.
“Though World Bank is not funding the Padma bridge construction, it is willing to finance in other projects in the country,” Obaidul said.
In the meeting, the minister has placed three proposals to the World Bank delegation.
These are --- rapid bus transit on Airport-Sadarghat route, construction of elevated expressways from Singair, Manikganj to Munsiganj and Dhaka to Chittagong.
The World Bank delegation said they would inform anout funding the project after feasibility study.
