3 policemen injured in clash with workers

At least 20 people including three policemen have been injured in a clash between the workers of motor sramik union and police personnel in Sirajganj bus stand area on Sunday morning.

Bus, minibus and coach owners’ association president Md Al Mazi Zinnah has claimed that some 15-20 workers of motor sramik union have been injured in the clash with police while the workers have been observing bus strike.

DB police OC Nasir Uddin has told Dhaka Tribune that three police members have been injured in the clash and they have been admitted to Sirajganj sadar hospital.

An emergency meeting is underway in the deputy commissioner’s office with the attendance of leaders of auto rickshaw sramik union, bus owners association and police administration over the clash.

Deputy Commissioner Billal Hossain is presidering over the meeting.

On Saturday, a clash between the workers of CNG-run auto rickshaws and motor sramik union took place, leaving 15-20 injured of the both groups.

Later, motor sramik union called bus strike in the district protesting attack on them.
