After several days’ of continuing heatwave, the city dwellers have experienced a moment of comfort as it rained in some parts of the capital on Saturday afternoon.
The shower of rain that started at 5:30pm, has brought relief to the people of Uttara, Mirpur and Dhanmondi from unbearable heat and humidity.
The highest temperature recorded in Dhaka city was 33 degree Celsius at 9pm on Saturday.
Dhaka city experienced the highest temperature in 54 years as mercury reached 40.2 degrees Celsius on Thursday.
Later, the record high temperature that was sweeping across the country for the last few days, dropped Friday afternoon due to the presence of a moderate southerly wind in the atmosphere.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department predicted further drop in the temperature at night due to the effect of light wind with drizzling.
