Selina Hossain new Shishu academy chairman

Novelist Selina Hossain has been appointed as the chairman of Bangladesh Shishu Academy, the academy for national interest of the children of Bangladesh.

She will be heading the academy for the next two years, what a gazette published in this regard from the public administration ministry said on Wednesday.

Selina will be replacing Ministry of Women and Children affairs Joint Secretary Shekh Abdul Ahad to head the 13-member board that runs the academy.

Before, she was a member of the 13-member board of management of the academy.

Bangladesh Shishu Academy is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs.

It was established in 1976 with a view to developing physical, mental, cultural and latent talent of children in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Shishu Academy is the only national institution in the country working for children's cultural and mental development for raising them up as worthy citizens.
