The Health ministry has formed three separate probe committees to investigate the recent incidents of unrest at the Rajshahi, Salimullah and Birdem hospitals.
The probe bodies have been asked to submit detailed reports regarding the incidents to the ministry concerned within seven working days.
MM Neazuddin, Secretary for Health, confirmed the formation of the investigation committees to the Dhaka Tribune.
While talking to journalists, he said: “The decision of forming the probe bodies has come from a meeting between the health minister and the journalist leaders.
Joint secretaries Anwar Hossain, Anwara Begum and Uttam Kumar will lead those probe teams,” he added.
The secretary further said in order to avert further conflict between the doctors and journalists, an information officer will also be appointed at all hospitals to deal with the media-personnel.
On Sunday, a clash between doctors of RMCH and journalists left about 10 media-personnel and three doctors injured at the hospital premises.
Later, the intern doctors went on strike demanding unconditional apology from the journalists.
Doctors at Birdem Hospital and Sir Salimullah Medical College, popularly known as Mitford hospital, also went on strike after clashes with patients.
