Body formed to probe RMCH incident

The authorities of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) on Monday have formed a seven-member probe body to look over the attack incident on journalists by interns at the hospital that left 10 of them injured on Sunday night.

Hasan Millat, a member of the governing body, came up with the announcement after the meeting of the body headed by Fazle Hossain Badsha.

The committee will be headed by Brigadier General AKM Nasiruddin, director of the college, he said.

Some 10 journalists including their camerapersons were injured in an attack by the intern doctors at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) on Sunday night.

The injured are Abrar Shahir of Channel24 and its cameraperson Raihan, Salauddin of Daily Sonar Desh, Masud of Masranga television, Jafar Iqbal Liton of Independent Television, Rubel of ATN News and cameraperson Russel of Jamuna Television.

Of them, cameraperson Raihan has been referred to Dhaka for better treatment.

Police and hospital sources said some intern doctors and attendants locked into clash following the death of a patient of ward No 13 around 10:30pm.
