Eminent poet Nirmalendu Goon has slammed Anyaprokash, a leading publication house of the country for cheating.
He asked the house to refrain from publishing his books and termed its proprietor as a dishonest man.
On his Facebook status Goon claimed that in 1999 the publisher made a verbal deed with him to pay him Tk10,000 monthly and later they published 5 of his books.
In the year 2004 they stopped generating him remuneration without any prior notice. He never asked due to his 'gentlemanliness,' however at present he thinks it is intolerable.
The publishing house has augmented the selling price of the books and printed new editions without informing him, he added.
When contacted, press secretary of Anyaprokash Maksud said: “Anyaprokash owner Mazharul Islam is in Singapore. No one else can talk about the matter apart from him.”
Nirmalendu Goon, on his Facebook status, said he had received at least Tk12 lakh as remuneration from a couple of other prominent publishing organizations in last ten years.
