“The historical speech of March 7 was the key declaration of independence of Bangladesh but anti-liberation thoughts misleading peoples by wrong information scraping the truth to fulfill their evil will Cultural”, Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor said.
Bangabandhu was the real announcer of our independence and the main declaration of our liberation war came from 7th March at while Bangabandhu convened everyone to fight against Pakistani junta, he added.
He said while addressing a discussion meeting marking the 94th birth anniversary of the father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Mujib Hall of Dhaka University arranged by the hall unit Chhatra league.
Noor said that the defeated forces of the liberation war are now engaged in planning of evil conspiracies against the patriotic people so it would be wrong if we think that the freedom fight has ended.
Citing Bangabandhu’s contribution in building a new nation, he said “We must resist them” he said.
Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu and Prime minister of the country is continuously facing life threats and the evil forces tried to kill him several times, he expressed.
He also praised the Prime Minister for achieving remarkable success in several sectors during her tenure and said she has made a remarkable chance in our developing sectors and it will be continue through her supervision in the next, none will be successful to thwart her progressive activity.
The minister urged the BCL activists to be more attentive in their study and hold the ideology of Bangabndu to lead the country in accordance with the science and technology.
Bangobondhu Hall BCL unit President Darus Salam Shakil Presided over the program and secretary General Riad Al Ieaz conducted while BCL president Bodiuzzaman Shohag and General secretary Siddique Nazmul Alam , former BCL central committee president Mahmud Hasan Ripon, former general secretary Mahfuzul Haidar Chowdhury Roton, were present at the occasion.
Meanwhile, teachers, students and officials of the Dhaka University placed wreath to the portrait of Bagabandh at Bangabandhu memorial museum n the city.
Later, a discussion on “life and works of the father of the nation Bangabandhu” was held at the TSC auditorium.
DU VC AAMS Arefin Sddique was in the chair, the discussion was also addressed among others by DU treasurer Professor Dr Kamal Uddin and DUTA president Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed.
Speaking at the occasion DU VC Aefin said that the significance of the day lies in the fact that without the birth of Sheikh Mujib, his rise in politics and his relentless struggle for the people’s causes, perhaps, independent Bangladesh would not have emerged, at least in 1971.
Earlier, a dawning competition of children was held at the TSC premises where different school going children from the city attended there.
