Several civil servants were seen marching with an Awami League procession at the Supreme Court premises on Monday after excitement in the area.
After clashes between pro-BNP lawyers and Awami League supporters, pro-Awami League lawyers brought out a procession from court premises.
Deputy Attorney Generals Iqramul Haque Tutul, Motaher Hossain Saju and Zahir, and Deputy Attorney General Samarendra Nath were seen marching with the parade. Saju even placed a speech to media.
The pro-Awami League lawyers' procession was led by Abdul Based Majumder. International Crimes Tribunal prosecutor Sumon was also seen in the parade.
“There were outsiders in the BNP's procession yesterday (Sunday),” Majumder said.
Deputy Attorney General Saju said there were BNP activists in the BNP procession. “What were the activists doing in the lawyers' procession?”
On Sunday, police tried for hours to quell protests of pro-BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami lawyers at the gates of the apex court in support of the Dhaka March programme.
Later, Awami League supporters barged inside the Supreme Court premises, wielding sticks, in police presence - an unprecedented move in the country's history.
Clashes later pursued for most of the remaining day hours inside the court premises. Several people were injured.
Similar clashes also began on Monday but quelled soon. This time stick-wielding Awami League supporters stayed outside the gates of the Supreme Court.
