The government has increased gratuity for public service holders by 15%.
The finance ministry issued a gazette notification regarding the matter on Monday.
For half the amount of the surrendered money in the time of their service, the government will now give Tk260 for every Tk1 from the surrendered money, this applies to those who have been in service for 10 to 15 years. The amount before was Tk230 for each surrendered Tk1.
For those who have been in service for 15 to 20 years, Tk245 will be given for every surrendered Tk1 in the time of job instead of the previous Tk215.
And for the service holders who have served for more than 20 years, the new amount would be Tk230, which was Tk200 earlier.
The government will pay half the amount it has fixed for every Tk1, for the other half of the surrendered money.
The policies would be effective from December 1, this year.
