Barrister Abdur Razzaq, also the chief counsel of executed war criminal Abdul Quader Molla, filed a general diary (GD) with the capital’s Paltan police station for spreading misleading information in social media facebook through his fake accounts.
The assistant secretary general of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Abdur Razzaq filed the GD in the afternoon alleging against spreading of false and fabricated information using his name through the facebook, said Morshed Alam, Officer-in-Charge of Paltan police station.
According to the GD, the prominent lawyer mentioned that he got surprised after noticing several unapproved accounts in his name on facebook.
He mentioned on the facebook, he has a single account opened on January 4 in 2012.
“These unapproved accounts have been opened in my name in a bid to tarnish my personal image. As per the attempts of propagandas in preplanned ways, the accounts have been opened illegally and such misleading information was being spread, which is unacceptable”, the GD reads.
Contacted the phone of Barrister Abdur Razzaq, someone received the call identifying him Iqbal and advised to this correspondent for sending a SMS with the identity and purposes of the call.
This correspondent fulfilled the requirements, but got no response despite repeated attempts.
Talking to the Dhaka Tribune, Paltan police station OC Morshed Alam said they were looking into the GD filed by Barrister Abdur Razzaq.
