The Chittagong rail link was cut off from rest of the country after a train derailed because of “massacre” of railway tracks in Burichang upazila, Comilla.
At least 30 people were injured in the sabotage that occurred during a blockade programme of the BNP-led 18-party alliance Sunday evening.
However, Comilla circle Government Railway Police Officer-in-Charge Ali Akbar told Dhaka tribune that at least 50 were injured in the incident.

“The lines have been massacred. I doubt if the link can be restored even by Monday,” he told the Dhaka Tribune.
He blamed blockade supporters for the “massacre.” Dhaka-Chittagong and Sylhet-Chittagong rail link is now disconnected, he added.
The condition of the injured is not serious.
