Jubo Dal leader arrested in Bogra

Police arrested a Jubo Dal leader with crude bombs, local weapons and explosive materials from a rented house in the district town’s Malatinagar on Thursday afternoon.

The arrestee was one Masud Rana, president of the city’s Jubo Dal unit and the area’s municipality commissioner.

Detective Branch (DB) of police Officer-in-charge Mizanur Rahman said: “Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a drive and arrested Masud with 40 crude bombs, explosive making materials and sharp local weapons around 12pm.”

He said some 20 cases were filed against him within several police stations and three more cases will be filed against him for illegal possession of explosives and weapons.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Gaziur Rahman said Masud had attacked law enforcers several times during the 18-party alliance’s programmes.

Gaziur Rahman added he has been charged for attempting to murder police members and conducting sabotage in railways.
