Bollywood’s major release this week Gori Tere Pyaar Mein is going slow at the box office. The movie opened to a disappointing start, raking in just Rs2.50 crore on its opening Friday. The figures show only 25-30 percent occupancy, despite the film being a Dharma Productions release, with an A-list cast.
The second day collections of the romantic comedy stand at Rs3 crore, showing just a moderate rise.
Gori Tere Pyaar Mein, which targeted the multiplex-driven audiences, released across 1560 screens (1250 in India and 310 internationally).
It is the second time Imran and Kareena have been cast together in Dharma Productions’ film once again. ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’ was expected to fetch a wonderful start at plexes and even the massive number of screens failed to give the film much needed flying start.
However, Goliyon Ki Raasleela – Ram-Leela, now in its second week, continued to rule the roost, faring much better than the new releases. With strong audience reception all through its first week, Ram-Leela took away the business of the Kareena-Imran starrer in several circuits.
