Four members of the same family died when the mud wall of the house collapsed in the Panirchhara area of the Hnila union in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar.
The incident took place at 3am on Friday.
The deceased are - Anwara Begum, 50, her son Shahidul Mostafa, 20, daughter Nilufa Yasmin, 15, and Sadia, 11, of Moricha Ghana area of Moulvibazar of Hnila union.
Hnila Union Parishad Chairman Rashed Mohammad Ali said: “Due to heavy rain in the early morning, the wall of the mud house collapsed. Four members of the same family including a mother, daughter, and son were killed. The matter has been reported to the administration.”
Teknaf Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Adnan Chowdhury confirmed the incident.
He said: “A team of administration has gone to visit the spot just after receiving the information of the collapsed wall.”
