DCCI invites Japanese entrepreneurs to invest in Bangladesh

Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) made a call to the Japanese entrepreneurs to invest in Bangladesh utilising the trade facilities offered to foreign investors.   It said investments could be made in sectors like renewable energy, windmill, infrastructure, tourism, communication, agriculture and pharmaceuticals.   The urge came at a meeting with the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce in Tokyo, Japan on Monday, said a press release.     “The long-time friendly relation between Bangladesh and Japan can boost trade and investment between the two countries further,” said DCCI president Md Sabur Khan.    He said DCCI has opened a help desk in its own premises to facilitate trade and commerce, which will promote businesses of not only home but also foreign entrepreneurs.   He said DCCI has decided to open a help desk in Bangladesh to help investors both from home and abroad find their desired entrepreneurs.      Although Tokyo Chamber president Toshio Nakamura expressed his interest to invest in Bangladesh, he was deeply concerned about political violence in the country.    Hailing the DCCI’s decision of opening a help desk, he said it would play an important role in expanding trades and commerce in Bangladesh.    Commercial Counselor of Bangladesh Embassy in Tokyo Rashedul Islam was also present during the meeting.
