Oikya Front leaders meet to forge alliance plan

Leaders of the Central steering committee of the Jatiya Oikya Front (JOF) held an emergency meeting on Monday to chalk out future programmes of the alliance.

The meeting was held at the residence of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) President ASM Abdur Rob in the capital’s Uttara at 4:00pm.

JOF alliance member Nagarik Oikya Convenor Mahmudur Rahman Manna did not attend the meeting, reports Bangla Tribune.

It was learnt that the agenda of the meeting focused on asking BNP, a major party of the alliance, for an official statement on the oath-taking of elected parliamentarians from the party, and its views regarding the alliance.

The meeting will also discuss issues regarding the ultimatums raised by Krishak Sramik Janata League (KSJL) President Kader Siddiqui, who is threatening to quit the alliance.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee member Dr Moin Khan, JSD President ASM Abdur Rob, JOF General Secretary Abdul Malek, KSJL President Kader Siddiqui, and General Secretary Habibur Rahman Talukder, KSJL Joint Secretary Iqbal Siddique, Gono Forum Executive President Abu Sayeed, Nagarik Oikya Joint Convener Dr Zahidur Rahman, among others, attended the meeting.
